Perfume, made the slow way
We started in 2019 with one obsession: build fragrances that behave like an extrait and cost like an everyday luxury. Seven years and five lakh bottles later, the obsession is unchanged.
Two chemists, one shelf of half-finished trials
Our founders — a cosmetic chemist and a fragrance obsessive — spent eighteen months filling notebooks with failed trials before the first bottle of Blanc Absolu was good enough to sell. It sold out in nine days.
What made it different was simple arithmetic. Instead of diluting to a 12% eau de toilette and pouring budget into celebrity endorsements, we bought better raw materials and put the money in the bottle. No middlemen, no department-store markup, no thin juice.
Three promises, kept
Concentration over cost
Every fragrance is blended at 28–30% oil — extrait strength. It costs us roughly three times more per bottle and it is the single reason our scents last.
Honest materials
Absolutes from Grasse, attars from Kannauj, and aroma molecules from a third-generation Italian house. We publish every note on every product page.
Small batches, no waste
We blend in runs of 400 bottles, rest the juice six weeks, and never overproduce. If something sells out, we let it — rather than reformulate to keep up.
From brief to bottle in eleven weeks
A fragrance is not mixed, it is composed. Here is the path every Maison Aura scent takes before it reaches your shelf.
A mood, not a molecule
We start from a feeling — the warm hum of a Delhi winter, the cold snap of a Bombay monsoon — and translate it into a list of notes to explore.
Hundreds of trials
Our perfumer builds up to 60 mods for a single brief, adjusting by fractions of a percent until the opening, heart and base agree with each other.
Six weeks of patience
Blends rest in amber glass at 18°C. The top notes soften, the base rounds out, and what smelled sharp on day one becomes seamless by week six.
Poured, sealed, boxed
Filled by hand in Mumbai, sealed with a crimped collar, and wrapped in our ivory box with a note card. Then it is yours.
